Watch Me Grow - 12 Months

Ok...so the big #1 Birthday Month--was a busy one with lots of action! Check it...

"Um, um..so this is cake!"

12 Month Progress:

Stats: 19 lb, 13 oz, 29 inches long (trying to come back after that horrible flu season).

Development:

  • I can give hugs & kisses
  • I can wave "bye-bye"
  • Got more teeth
  • Making more sentences (jibberish that my parents don't seem to understand)!
  • I can drink from a straw
  • Took my first steps

Fun Facts & Other Interesting Things:

  • Ok.. so I started the Birthday month off still fighting off that stinking flu bug, but hey I'm a fighter. Also working on getting most of my primary incisors in too! This first year...can be a beast!
  • I went to Children's Church at JCC for the first time. I guess you could say that I enjoyed it--They didn't have to use the pager to call Mommy!
  • Kinda jumped out of my crib in the middle of the night (when they didn't come get me shortly after I called (cried) for them! I was on my way to find them, but it was dark! Imagine the look on Daddy's face when he came into my room and saw me on the floor (tee, hee)! Needless to say, I got their attn. But dang, it backfired...they lowered my matress even more, so now it's too hard for me to get my leg up there to crawl out! Just wait... a few more inches (sometime this summer). You know I am an expert climber (I didn't say walker)!
  • I went to a play & music class at Gymboree on my birthday (Checking out the joint before I host my first party)!

"Not feeling so good now"

"FIRE!@#?"

  • GOT MY FIRST HAIRCUT! Ok...let's call it a trim. I guess it turned out ok. Glad Daddy realized (and Mommy strongly advised him) that clippers wasn't the way to go on my hair and got out the scissors!

"Sportin' my fro"

"Use these combs"
"NO, NO haircut!"

"Rockin' my new cut"

  • Went to see theSNOW in Lake Tahoe for the FIRST TIME w/ the GPs (Godparents & Lauren & Jordan) We had fun. Enjoyed my FIRST SLED RIDE w/o falling off. It was pretty cool (literally)! Oh Yeah GPs, sorry about the "noisy" ride to Tahoe!

  • "Where are you guys?"
    "We didn't do it!"

    "Fun in the snow"
  • OK...so the BIG Party at Gymboree.....so much fun! I had a blast (though my temperament earlier that day had Mommy worried. I was just hungry--she should have figured that out)! You know I'm talking more...they're just not understanding what I'm saying!

  • "Auntie I was hungry"

    "Gather 'round--My new favorite chair"
    "Chillin w/ my peeps"
    "Kiss, kiss Gymbo?"

  • Nanna, Papa, & Auntie Didi arrived that Thursday and we got movin & shakin from then until they left! I must say...I was much more pleasant this time! Don't get me wrong...I still had my moments!

  • I ate CAKE for the FIRST TIME.

  • I DEDICATED my life to the Lord for the FIRST TIME! (I think the ceremony went rather smoothly--I was quiet the entire time (NO, I was not asleep)! It was when we went back to our seats that I decided to get rowdy! I wanted to say what I didn't get to say on stage!

  • I ate CAKE FOR THE SECOND TIME at my Baby Dedication brunch after church. It was great seeing everyone. I'll tell you I really do appreciate all of the love and support!

  • This birthday thing...has been a blasts. I think I'd like to do this again next year! I'm like my Mommy--love gifts! Got some new fly threads to update my wardrobe, some cool toys that I'll play w/ when I outgrow them.--for now I'm into the everyday things like pens, cups, letter openers, water bottles! You know!
  • I've also been booked for so many events...I have party after party lined up. Older girls and everything! Thanks for keeping up my calendar Mommy...You keep me socialized!
  • Oh...did I mention that I took a few steps (just wanted to get my Peeps all excited. I'm not ready to quite make the transition to full walking...then they won't carry me all the time)! I'm not crazy!
  • First I would like to thank God for giving my parents the grace to make it through this first year. Next, I want to thank all of my fans ( I mean family and friends) for coming out to support me. You have made this first year of life truly special! I couldn't have done it with out you. Thanks Auntie Julie & cuz Klarissia for driving down, Nanna, Papa, Auntie Didi & Dee for flying out for all of my special ocassions! You guys are the best. I know Mommy promises to live closer to you one day so that you don't have to take a flight just to see me. Hey, I'm too young to move on my on...so I suggest you guys put the pressure on if you want to see me more often!

I love you all very much. Thanks again for all the great gifts, cards, money, words of encouragement, hugs, kisses, etc.--for just being there!

You'll have to check out the Yahoo photos to see all of the party shots!

Watch Me Grow - 11 Months

Hi Peeps! It's been a few months and alot has happened since then. So I'll catch you up starting at 11 months.

11 Month Progress:
Stats: 19 lb 11oz, 28.6 in long

Development:

  • I can stand alone
  • I am on cruise control
  • Exploring more
  • Asserting my independence (starting the early phase of tantrums)

Fun Facts & Other Interesting Things:

  • So this month was the peak of the flu season...and boy did WE get it. Looking back...it's a wonder how we made it over! Poor Mommy & Daddy...they couldn't handle it. They were sicker than they had ever been (so they tell me)!
  • On top of the flu virus, my teeth were coming in too. There were a few days that I actually enjoyed during the month of February. Hence, the picture of me and Ernie at Wal-mart. I noticed him and Burt on my way out--so I decided to say what's up and get a ride w/ them!
  • Still going to my play & music class at Gymboree. It's pretty cool, when I'm feeling up to it!

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

Well Folks that's all for now! I'll check back in w/ you in a few months. Maybe shortly after the BIG 1-0! Oh yeah...I'm sure you've all been wondering and some commenting about my hair styles....Well what can I say...gotta mixture of my Momma & Daddy's hair. We've tried the Samurai ponytail, braiding...it won't stay! So they are debating on whether to cut it at 1.0! Dad says "No", Mom says "Yes"...We'll see.

Watch Me Grow - 10 Months

10 Months and counting....

"Chillin' on my ride"

10 Month Progress:

Development:
-Using my pincer grasp well now- I love to eat veggie puffs
-I can give High 5 (when I want to)!
-I can get on my ride by myself (when I want to)!
-Expert climber (not walker yet, climber). I can even climb the stairs w/ an object in one hand.

-I can use my spoon to get food to my mouth (w/ a little help).

Fun Facts & Other Interesting Things:

  • My top teeth are coming in (what's funny is that it's the one on the far right). Hope the middle two come in too. It might look funny if they don't!
  • I'm kinda gettin over the "separation-anxiety thing" (when I want to)!
  • The eczema seems to be better, now it's these darn flu viruses going around! Ugh! I even gave it to Mommy & Daddy--put them out of commission! It was cool b/c Mommy stayed home w/ me a few days...and I milked it!
  • I still go to the sitters house next door a few days aweek, but we've been traveling and sick so (Aha, I haven't had to go this past week)!
  • I went to So Cal and hung out w/ family and friends. Saw another movie--"Stomp tha Yard". I pretty much slept thru that one too. They're lucky huh! For now that is...
  • I went to the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. So cool! I had a blast and can't wait to go back! That Crawl Space area was just perfect for people my size!
  • I also went to a Gymboree Play & Music class last weekend. That was cool. I wasn't feeling well, so I hung out for a bit, then I had to get away. Besides most of them cats were walkers (must have been a little older than me)! However I did enjoy the smaller Music class later that morning. I love the maraca's!
  • Oh Yeah...Mommy booked my birthday party at Gymboree too! Surprise, surprise!
  • I Love to call out "Mama" and "Dada" when I'm looking for them (or when I want to)! I even said "Bye, Bye" a couple of times. I think I'll be a great communicator (when I want to)! I should be as much as my folks like to talk!
  • I kinda like playing "Hide and Seek."
  • If you're looking for something--Check the trashcan. I like to put everything in there! Mommy and Daddy have had dig thru the trash and clean off many things!
  • Oh yeah...I'm still trying to win the sleep thru the night battle. We're about middle ground now. I go down easy, but around 3 or 4 am is when I like to party or see if anyone else is up! This is when I use my "Mama" and "Dada!"

"My First SuperBowl"

Watch Me Grow - 9 Months

3 Quarters of aYear and getting ready to celebrate my 1st Christmas!

9 Month Progress:

"Wow that looks pretty cool!" "Got my Daddy's Hair!"
Stats: 18 lb 8 oz, 28.25 inches long
(That stomach flu thing set me back a bit)!
Development:
-Cruising the set quite well--Not ready to walk yet, but stay tuned.
- Ive started climbing the stairs
- I can pick up my toys and put them in my walker--but my favorite place to put them is in the trashcan!
- Now have 2 bottom teeth.
-Pretty good at saying "Mama" and "Dada" (esp when I want to get my way)
-I drink well from a cup and hold my own spoon

Fun Facts & Other Interesting Things:
- I took separation anxiety to the next level when my Nanna & Auntie Didi came for Christmas.
But hey, I was sick..so they understood! Sorry about the dirty looks Nanna & Auntie! Sorry no pics w/ Nanna & Auntie during Christmas...never was a good picture moment! Maybe when I was asleep! I now know that family really do stick by (even when you're trippin)! I'll make it up to them next time!
-Nanna taught me to clap my hands (which I do when I want to)!
-It was a rather difficult month too-- w/ the teething, allergies, eczema & stomach flu. But we made it through it.
-My sitter was out of the country so I got to hang out w/ Mommy & Daddy more over the Holidays (which was great)! I got to sleep w/ them again when I got sick. I was so milking it!
-Then my Nanna came....she helped me get more sleep (in my crib)!
-But then she left and my Daddy's family came and I thought I would try to slip back into my old ways. But Mommy got me right back into my crib after they left! So I sleep most of the night in my crib.
-I went to 2 movie w/ my parents: Happy Feet & Pursuit of Happyness. They were happy b/c I slept thru most of the movie! They'd better enjoy it while it lasts!
"This is my push cart I use to get around and carry all my stuff in!"

"Got my first set of wheels for Christmas!"

"Had to stomp on that thing that was popping out of the book!"

"What?"

"If I roll it away really fast, maybe she won't know that I took it!"

Watch Me Grow - 8 Months

Hi Folks,

It's been a while since I updated (at least it's less than 5 months since the last time)! As I come closer to making the BIG 1.0 I figured I should let you know what's been going on w/ me. Now these last few months have been pretty challenging--w/ the colds and eczema flare ups and teething....it's a wonder me or Mommy & Daddy got any sleep!

8 Month Progress:
Stats: 18 lb 11 oz, 28.25 in long
Development:
-I like playing Peek-A-Boo
-I am expert crawler now
-I like to hold the spoon all by myself (even though I can't get the food in my mouth)!
"Look what I found!"

My favorite chair!

Fun Facts & Other Interesting Things:

  • I started next door at the babysitters a few days a week. OK...so I gave her a hard time at first. I just wanted her to prove herself! She's great though. And I guess it's cool to hang around w/ a little older crowd (15+month olds can do a lot of stuff)!
  • Got my 1st tooth coming in on the bottom. My Nanna kept asking Mommy about it...finally Nanna got'em coming!
  • I also like pinching Mommy & giving her the eye roll and stare down. I just wanted to see if she's really in tune w/ me! Oh but she is! One time she pinched me back!
  • Still not fond of riding in my carseat! Mommy even sits back there to keep me company.Milking it!
  • I spent my 1st Thanksgiving hanging out w/ some of my parent's friends....who have two really cute girls...who were diggin me! Check it out:

Another 7 Months Pic

Handsome huh!

Well folks... that's my update for now... You know it may be a while before we update again. We'll try not to wait 5 months. For more of me.....check out more photos on the Yahoo Photo link. And Don't forget to take a look at my videos! Two in the 7 months, one in the 5 months and one in my very first post.

Watch Me Grow - 7 Months

More than a half a year old--
7 Month Progress:

Stats: 17 lb, 5 oz, 27.5 inches long

Development:
Tried my 1st fruit in the jar- bananas--tastes pretty good!
  • I've been eyeing my parents food, so now they let me eat some of the things they eat--like potatoes, carrots (NOT from a jar)! Now those sweet potatoes from the jar-- not bad!

Here's me and some mashed potatoes that Mommy tried to give me w/out cooking them herself. She knows I don't like that processed food... yucky!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuJv-MUrk5U

Pulling up on things - I'm already trying to stand & walk!

Wanna see me... here I go...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIQJzOGvuu8

Like my Halloween Costume--I'm the new Sheriff in town!

Fun Facts & Other Interesting Things:

  • I actually sleep in my crib for naps and the first part of the night! I'm giving in slowly!
  • I know how to make the clicking sound (scratching my throat like my mommy's folk)!
  • Got a little case of separation anxiety--what do you expect--I love my Mommy & Daddy!
  • Although people have been saying this since I was 4-months--"he must be teething"--NOPE...no teeth yet!
  • I'm actually really starting to enjoy bath time--I know how to make a big splash now!
  • My Daddy really wants to take me Trick-or-Treating, but my Mom is against it. She says I'm too young!

OK...1 More 6 Month Pic

My Parents are so proud! I really charmed that photographer! Am I starting to favor Mommy a bit there?

Another 6 Months Pic

Had to Show off
that one!

Watch Me Grow - 6 Months

Growing so fast, 6 Months already:

Stats: 16 lbs- 50z, 26.25 inches long
Development:
  • Had my 1st food (cereal ) at my Nanna Deb's house. Taste pretty good!
  • Sitting by myself now!
  • Had my first taste of baby food--carrots--Yuck...don't care for carrots from a jar!
  • Recognize my name, Miles--I like the sound of it!
  • I like to pat on the table
  • Started crawling on my belly...gettin around pretty good.
  • I'm noticing nature when we go out for walks--those things in the air were pretty cool!
Fun Facts & Other Intersting Things:
  • So mind you I'm trying to get over this cold thing after we return from the whirlwind trip. I get my shots done the next week, and caught another cold from my godbrother, Jordan that next week. I'll tell you...my parents! SO I prostested--I wasn't really a happy camper for a few days (or could it have been weeks???) Anyway I finally over came the cold.
  • I stayed w/ Aunt Dixie one day. I stopped eating cereal after that- I had to protest again--how dare them...leave me w/ someone! But for real...I had fun (but don't tell them)!
  • My eczema has been wild and crazy! They say I'll out grow it. I'm still cute--even w/ all the flare ups!
  • Oh yeah...and now they're trying to get me to sleep in my crib...Huh...I don't think so!
  • Besides--my Mommy just returned to work full-time and I'm not liking it! So I must protest! I wake up more often at night to nurse, since she's not there during the day. Oh how I miss her! But me & Daddy are bonding. I get him to play w/me and hold me all day! Hey got to milk it as long as I can (until he catches on)!
